Fly-Fishing on Radovna
Nice, small river near Bled

Description

The Radovna is rather small river flowing through the picturesque Krma valley and through the impressive Vintgar gorge. In the upper reaches good brown trout are to be found and lower down very large rainbows test the skills of visiting anglers. A good unpaved road with very little traffic runs alongside the river.

Fishing part

Radovna is managed by Fisheries Research Institute Of Slovenia.

...to Radovna is 32 km or 40 minutes by car. 

Fishing methods

Fishing is allowed by using  one fly rod and one fly only, barb less hooks should be used only.

Catch & Release section: Captured fishes must be immediatly unharmed released.

Fishing from bridges is not alowed!

Wading is the most common technique along streams and rivers. Hip boots are handy on small streams or in high season when the waters are low, but chest waders are needed on the large rivers. Felt-soled wading shoes or boots are recommended.

Fishing Season on Radovna is from 01.03. to 30.11.

Brown trout 26 01.03. - 30.09.
Rainbow trout - 01.03. - 30.11.
All other fish, frog and crab species are protected entire year!

Daily bag

Three salmonids of which only one grayling. Daily bag can contain only one salmonid over 50 cm! 

After daily bag is landed all fishing must stop!

Equipment

You can rent equipment for Fly-fishing and Fishing. In equipment are boots, rod and handbag. Price! Also other equipment for Fly-fishing and Fishing is available in shop.

Guiding

Guiding is possible for all rivers and lakes. Maximal 5 Persons is allowed for one guide. Price!

Prices for Fishing

Fishing license you can buy in Hotel/Pension STARE at the Bohinj lake. There are several different types of fishing ticket.

The yearly fishing ticket for particular river or lake are also available.
