The King's Golf Course

King's golf course Bled was already in 1938, when it was opened, known as one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe. The very first customers were the diplomats, politicians and aristocrats who were spending their holidays in Bled.

The championship course with 18 holes was re-designed in 1972 by the golf architect Donald Harradine. His masterful achievement successfully incorporates all its natural features. The fact that golfers have to use every club in their bag is testimony to the rich variety of playing surfaces and so it is no wonder that players return again and again.

Golfers, met today on this beautiful oases, are mainly successful businessman who come from all over the world.

The Lake Golf Course

In 1993, the King's Course was joined by this 9-hole course of more contemporary design, with more varied relief and three water hazards. It is particularly appreciated by players who wish to test their control of the game in the face of water hazards. The Lake Course also features a putting green. These first 9 holes represent part of a projected 18-hole championship course.

On delight of the growing number of golfers in Bled, we started to build a second golf course with 18 new holes, nine of which are already finished.

Idyllic surroundings and exceptional land configuration are the main trumps of the golf course which was designed in seventies by one of the biggest European architectural experts, Mr. Donald Harradine. "Here is so beautiful, that the golf course is soon not going to be big enough  anymore", he said then and he was right.

Access to the King's Course and the Lake Course

Distance from our Hotel/Pension STARE (at the Bohinj lake) to the Golf Course Bled is 32 km (25 min. by car).

At the junction, less than one kilometer outside Bled, take a left turn and continue straight to the Bled Golf Course. The King's Club House and the Lake House Inn are located by the golf course.
